We love cloth diapers for their many benefits. But after speaking with many cloth-diapering parents, we realized they were still buying disposable diapers for certain occasions, such as holidays and drop-offs with grandparents.
Charlie Banana® diapers are a “2-in-1” reusable diaper system. It’s a cloth diaper but with a smart front panel that gives you the option of tucking in a disposable pad for those special occasions.
With Charlie Banana® diapers, you get the best of both diaper worlds!
What makes them so special?
Charlie Banana® One Size or Size diapers are a 2-in-1 system. You can use washable inserts or disposable inserts. It's a diaper with options!
We recommend you stuff the inside with reusable inserts. However, we know there are times when you need to be able to use a disposable insert, for instance while traveling or when leaving your child with someone unaccustomed to cloth diapers.
Sized versus One Size?
Some mothers prefer the Sized Diapers because no adjustments are needed and they always fit perfectly.
This is especially true for the size Small diapers. Many babies are very tiny at birth and it can be hard to fit a One Size diaper snugly.
To start, we recommend getting a couple of Sized and One Size diapers to see what you like best, and then add more of your favorite styles and colours as you wish.
Every baby is different and it is really a personal preference.
They are both great diapers. Really!!

Not impressed
These were the first cloth diapers I purchased and I was so disappointed! My baby has chunky thighs and still every single time he wore one he leaked. They are also super annoying to stuff. The crotch area is very narrow. I would recommend kawaii or bumgenius over these! Don't waste your money.

just okay
We used these starting at three months. They fit a little poofy. The sides would sort of bubble out, making it look funny. CB's swim diapers also do the same thing. Unfortunately, I got rid of these after a few months, bc they are harder to stuff than other pocket diapers. They have a more narrow crotch area, and the inserts barely fit. Also, the inserts are not contoured in the middle like other brands. Another thing to consider is that the pocket opening is in the front. With boys, it's very unpleasant pulling the wet inserts out, bc most of the wetness is in the front. With back pocket openings on other brands, you rarely run into this problem. It is nice, however, that these have two hip snaps + a crossover snap (which is on the left, rare, good for me since I'm a lefty).

Not too shabby :)
I'm not a complete expert of CDs, but I own grovia, charlie banana and kissaluv diapers. Charlie Banana diapers are my only experience with pocket diapers, but so far they are really nice. The fleece is super soft, and my heavy wetter baby can last about 3 hours in one. I use bioliners in all of my diapers, so I can't really speak to staining. I've been using my grovia and charlie banana diapers for a month on my formula fed 3 month old, and they are both great diaper brands. The Charlie Banana one size diapers are really nice so far! :)
